As I Am: Asians in America Pilot Radio Program
IAAS is working to establish a regular program for public radio which will focus on Asian American culture and issues. Stories will cover areas such as the arts, politics and public policy, legal affairs, and popular culture. An hour-long pilot show, produced jointly by IAAS and WUMB, has already been completed. The pilot, hosted by Helen Zia, features commentary by professor Vijay Prashad, a piece on gentrification in Boston's Chinatown, and an interview with Free Food for Millionaires author Min Jin Lee among other highlights. IAAS is now seeking support to make As I Am a regular, national program.
